THEY CALL THE WIND MARIAH?

I'm not sure where they call the wind Mariah but here we called the wind a NIGHTMARE today! In our city it got up over 80 miles an hour. Fifteen miles from here it got up over 102 miles per hour. It knocked down trees, power lines, fences--all kinds of things. They closed the freeways to high profile vehicles. I guess there were a few semi's blown over on the freeway. Our neighbor lost a couple of large trees and several of our neighbors lost fences, shingles off roofs and we even saw one shed on it's side.Thousands of people are without power tonight and it is really cold and still really windy. Although, the winds have calmed and slowed from what they were. I was listening to the weather report and they said this happens about once every ten years. I do remember a couple of other times we had wind like this and it was about that long in between. We are all fine and luckily we don't have any damage. We feel really blessed. Rob, Julie and I were able to go help one of our neighbors begin removing parts of a big tree that fell. He and his wife couldn't even leave their driveway because it fell across it. So, we helped them move enough of it that they could drive around it. Quite a day! BTW, I just looked up the word Mariah, it's Jewish for bitter. That explains a lot! Lol!
